The Trustees of the George H. Stowell Free Library are happy to announce the appointment of our new librarian, Lucy Applegate. She will begin her duties on Wednesday, May 1. We have asked her to introduce herself to you:

“I am Lucy Applegate, the new Librarian at G.H. Stowell Library. I moved to New England eight years ago from humid Louisiana and have never looked back. For the better part of a decade, I have worked in libraries similar to the one in Cornish. In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, quilting, and reading: mysteries, historical fiction, and non-fiction about Oceanography. With an education in early childhood development and English, I am excited to learn more about your community and library. Can’t wait to see you at the library!”

We say goodbye and thank you to our current librarian, Stephanie McAndrew, who will be leaving us soon to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity for her family. We wish her well on her journey.
