HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION

Meet our new Librarian!

The Trustees of the George H. Stowell Free Library are happy to announce the appointment of our new librarian, Lucy Applegate. She will begin her duties on Wednesday, May 1. We have asked her to introduce herself to you:

“I am Lucy Applegate, the new Librarian at G.H. Stowell Library. I moved to New England eight years ago from humid Louisiana and have never looked back. For the better part of a decade, I have worked in libraries similar to the one in Cornish. In my spare time, I enjoy knitting, quilting, and reading: mysteries, historical fiction, and non-fiction about Oceanography. With an education in early childhood development and English, I am excited to learn more about your community and library. Can’t wait to see you at the library!”

Please do stop by the library to welcome her. She is looking forward to getting to know us.

We say goodbye and thank you to our current librarian, Stephanie MacAndrew, who will be leaving us soon to take advantage of a wonderful opportunity for her family. We wish her well on her journey.

Bridge on CREA trails closed.

The bridge at the CREA property is currently closed until repairs are able to be made. The CREA Committee is meeting on Tuesday, April 23rd at 6:30 at the Town Office when we will discuss the redecking of the bridge as well as stabilizing the north end due to high water washout and beaver activity. We will post when repairs are made and the bridge is reopened. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Selectmen, or Dale Lawrence.

Thank you,
Dale Lawrence, CREA Committee
